Golden Horse (Jin Jun Mei) 10 Bags / 65g
Golden Horse (Jin Jun Mei), also translated as Golden Horse Eyebrow, is a prestigious Chinese black tea originating from the Wuyi Mountain region of Fujian Province. It is renowned for its refined aroma, delicate sweetness and elegant character, and is regarded as one of the most celebrated modern Chinese black teas.
Jin Jun Mei is made from carefully selected tender spring buds harvested during the early part of the season. A large number of young buds are required to produce a relatively small quantity of finished tea, making the picking and processing particularly labour-intensive.
After harvesting, the buds undergo withering, rolling, full oxidation and careful drying. This traditional black tea process develops the tea’s naturally sweet, fruity and floral fragrance while preserving its smooth texture and refined character.
When brewed, Jin Jun Mei produces a clear golden-amber to reddish-golden liquor with a rich yet elegant aroma. The flavour is smooth and naturally sweet, with notes of honey, ripe fruit, flowers and light malt, followed by a long-lasting sweet aftertaste.
Unlike stronger or more astringent black teas, Jin Jun Mei is known for its soft mouthfeel and balanced character. It is an excellent choice for those who enjoy aromatic black tea with natural sweetness and very little bitterness.
