Tai Ping Hou Kui 40g
Taiping Houkui is a famous green tea from Taiping, now part of Huangshan City in Anhui Province. First created in the early 1900s, it is one of China’s most distinctive green teas, easily recognised by its long, flat and elegant leaves.
This tea is made through a complicated and time-consuming process. Harvest usually begins around April 20th, during the Gu Yu solar period in China’s traditional agricultural calendar, when the tea shoots have developed enough strength and fragrance while still remaining tender.
The leaves of Taiping Houkui are large, straight and beautifully pressed, often showing a graceful shape with two leaves embracing one bud. When brewed, the tea releases a gentle floral aroma that can last through multiple infusions.
The taste is fresh, smooth and elegant, with a distinctive note of toasted bamboo leaf and a soft, lingering sweetness. Despite its impressive leaf size, the flavour is refined rather than heavy, making it a wonderful choice for those who enjoy fragrant, graceful and premium Chinese green tea.
